9 courses, 4 final exams, 60+ case studies in just 90 days…. Michaelmas Term has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. As I wait to board my flight to a (well deserved?) holiday, I have been reflecting on the Cambridge MBA experience so far. It has been a steep learning curve, full of self-discovery.

Cambridge Venture Project (CVP)

As MBA consultants, we worked with Arcus Global – a company founded by Cambridge MBA alumnus, Denis Kaminskiy – to identify international expansion strategies including market sizing and competitor deep dives. It was fascinating to understand how local government structures shape product offerings across regions, especially in the public software domain. But the learnings went far beyond the project. For us, CVP was a playground to experiment with leadership and management theories. From using the Belbin Test to pinpoint gaps within the team to utilising the project to test my own work preferences, the lessons have been invaluable. I can’t wait to apply these when I go back to the corporate world post-MBA.

Financial Adviser at Letera

As someone who has always been passionate about numbers, it was only a matter of time before I dived back into real-world finance. I worked with Amu Chandra, co-founder of Letera, to build a robust financial model for their pre-seed round. We devised comprehensive three statement models tailored to funding needs, evaluated unit economics, and mapped out potential funding scenarios for subsequent rounds. But the most exciting part? Discovering how machine learning is applied in linguistics to enhance human language education. Letera has massive potential in EdTech, and I am excited to watch them scale.

Advanced financial modelling workshop at Cambridge Judge Business School

Personally, for me, the most enjoyable part of the term was undoubtedly the 15-hour Advanced Financial Modelling workshop with the finance guru, Serge Vidal. During my undergraduate and CFA L1, I learned equity valuation methods. But this course was the next level! I gained hands-on experience with complex debt waterfalls, LBO and M&A models. I now feel much more confident in tackling sophisticated capital structures.
