The past month and a half have been an incredible start to the Michaelmas Term at Cambridge Judge and in the broader Cambridge community. Transitioning from working in the area to being a student again has been a bit strange, but it’s a welcome change!
Time is flying by, and each day brings new opportunities, keeping me constantly engaged. Here are a few highlights I’d like to share:
My First Case Competition – HEC Paris Climate and Earth
Applying a climate-focused mindset to the proposed business problem was incredibly rewarding. The quick turnaround of the competition during induction to the Business School and the start of classes proved challenging but reaffirmed my decision to pursue an MBA. Though my team didn’t make the final round, it was a great learning experience to see how I could apply my previous experience to a new industry.
Getting Back into Sport – Queens’ College Boat Club
Despite a rocky start due to reaggravating an old knee injury, it’s been fun to get involved with QCBC. I’ve taken up coxswaining this term and am working on building strength around my knee to start rowing soon. Surprisingly, I’ve come to enjoy the early mornings on the river!
Engaging in College Life – Within Queens’ and Beyond
One reason I chose to pursue my MBA at Cambridge was to engage with the wider community. From college Formal Dinners at Queens’ and other colleges, to events at the Cambridge Union, like a discussion with Jeffrey Sachs, and the frequent lively pub conversations, there has been so much to immerse myself in.
I am looking forward to see what the rest of the term brings! Based on the first 6 weeks, I am sure that it will be a busy and exciting year in Cambridge.
